Music Makes the Difference — Live Brazilian Mix

By 07 September, 2010

Music Makes the Difference are an LA-based collective of sounds artists (DJs, MCs, producers), whom, I was tempted to say, are specialists in Brazilian music, but that wouldn’t be strictly true. They also know their reggae, cumbia, jazz and French music. In fact, their mixed of French music are well worth checking out. Have a listen to Part 1 here and listen to the other four parts. Anyway, I’m getting side-tracked as the reason I am writing this is because El Dopa (head honcho at Music Makes the Difference) has kindly offered us a live DJ set of Brazilian music which we have very quickly snapped up and published. It’s a mix that he played at Verdugo Bar on July 14th for Brazil Night.

Tracklisting is below with a download link at the bottom. We have become a bit of a haven for jazzy/funky Brazilian sets of late, and this is a great addition. There’s quite a few tunes that people won’t be familiar with as well as a few choice beats thrown in from people like J Dilla and DJ Shadow to make the whole thing swing that little bit nicer.

2. Tenorio Jr – Consolaçao
