New Bonde do Rolê EP ‘Biblia Rosa’ Released As Free Download

By 12 August, 2015

Brazil’s favela funk-inspired electro-brega popsters Bonde do Rolê are back with a new EP that has fun with some of their country’s favourite musical idols.

Biblia Rosa (which translates as Pink Bible) features four tracks, all of which are pastiches of music by some of Brazil’s undoubted music legends with Maria Bethânia, Tim Maia, Jorge Ben and Erasmo Carlos getting the cover/pastiche treatment, with Tim Maia faring worst on a cover of an MC Nego Bom track entitled “Tim Putaria”. Amidst the songs, and their videos (which can be seen below), are themes of sexuality and drugs that only seem to heighten the levels of parody.

Biblia Rosa dropped today as a free download and is available from Mediafire.
