VIDEO: Marineros “Oh Oh”

By 10 July, 2014

It is quite clear that Chile’s Marineros have got a gameplan. After releasing their first single and video, “Espero”, towards the end of last year they recently returned with song #2, aka “Oh Oh”. We are being drip-fed new music from this duo and the anticipation is building.

Both videos are directed by Álvaro Puentes and have a certain retro-noire charm, and the music… well, the music is a mixture of previous Chilean pop bands, with Dënver and Nueva Orleans near the top of the queue. Yet Marineros – whose members are Constanza and Soledad – also throw their own influences into the mix, ensuring the music is sensual, slow-building, methodical even, with just a touch of the balearics in their deep, dreamy rhythms.

Expect to hear a lot more from this band.
