Sounds and Colours Colombia Book + CD Is Officially Released

By 03 October, 2012

This week we officially released our Colombia book and CD, a project devoted to sharing the amazing music and culture of Colombia. The book contains 198 pages of articles, illustrations and photos by contributors from Colombia, Europe, North America and the rest of the world.

Our aim was to create a book full of voices, opinions and ideas that would allow for anyone reading it to gain a better understanding of Colombia and it’s artistic expressions, and that would differ from academic texts, travel articles and lazy journalism by offering passionate and well-researched articles on a wide range of topics. We are more than happy with the results, and are sure you will be too.

Accompanying the book is a 16-track compilation featuring new music from Colombia, both intended to accompany the book and work as a stand-alone compilation in it’s own right. Artists featured on the compilation include Paíto y los Gaiteros de Punta Brava, Los Pirañas, Thornato with Lido Pimienta, Louis Towers, Esteban Copete y su Kinteto Pacifico, Calavera y la Popular Independiente, Pernett, La MiniTK del Miedo, Conector, Son Palenque, Las Malas Amistades, Planes (Estudios Universales), Andrés Gualdrón y los Animales Blancos, Meridian Brothers, La Blanquita Farm and Mucho Indio.
