New album from La Vida Boheme receives 14th May Release Date

By 08 May, 2013

The eagerly-anticipated new record from Venezuelan band La Vida Boheme is just a week away after a 14th May release date was confirmed. Será follows on from their Latin Grammy-nominated 2011 debut Nuestra, and their commercial appeal was emphasised when they won the ‘Best Song in a Video Game’ at the MTV Game Awards. Not exactly oozing underground credibility then, but La Vida Boheme is nevertheless a band with catchy tunes and a compulsive energy that is released in indy-punk guitars wrought over frenetic beats and Henry D’Arthenay’s vocal clout. It is a style that merges punk structures with a more rounded mainstream songwriting style and contagiously dancey rhythms to create a sound that is wildly popular with today’s Generation X.

Their are some pretty anthemic qualities to songs such as ‘El Sentimiento Ha Muerto‘ and ‘Radio Capital‘, while the new album is said to be more ‘Venezuelan’ in its influence and flow to more of an electro-groove. We suspect it won’t stray drastically away from the formula that has brought the band so much success but we’re ready to be surprised.

The new album will be available from next Tuesday on Itunes.
