New Quantic and Saravah Soul out this week

By 08 July, 2010

It’s been a good week for new Tru Thoughts releases. The second albums by both Quantic Presenta Flowering Inferno and Saravah Soul have both been released.

Dog With a Rope by Quantic Presenta Flowering Inferno is essentially a dub/reggae album with sprinklings of Cuba and Colombia, quite nicely summarised as a ‘Tropical Dub’ album. We reviewed the album here.

The album can be bought from Amazon

The second release by Saravah Soul Cultura Impura builds on the blueprint of Afro-Brazilian funk they so vividly captured on their debut. If anything this album has more of an African vibe, perhaps not surprising considering that lead singer Otto had been getting heavily into Fela Kuti and Afro-Beat between albums. You can read our interview with Otto here.
