Quantic Returns To London For The ‘Tropical Elevation World Tour’

By 19 April, 2016

On 19th May, musician, producer and DJ Quantic, a.k.a Will Holland, will return to the capital for a special live set at Shoreditch’s Village Underground.

Performing during the UK-leg of his Tropical Elevation World Tour, Quantic will be bringing his fusion of dancefloor-rousing beats and tropical rhythms to East London.

Playing with his full live band, Quantic will be joined by legendary Colombian drummer/percussionist Wilson Viveros and Texas-born multi-instrumentalist Sylvester Onyejiaka on horns and keys.

Having begun his musical career experimenting with downtempo instrumental tunes, Quantic’s more recent music has been influenced by the sounds of Latin America, with Pacific grooves and tropical bass having a strong influence on his musical vision.

Following the cumbia-infused rhythms appearing on the eponymous debut record from Ondatrópica, a project which Holland spearheaded with Colombian cumbia experimentalist Mario Galeano, his latest LP under the Quantic name, Magnética, offered a pulsating, bass-heavy fusion of electronic beats and Colombian instrumentation. His next release will be 1000 Watts, a reggae-roots-heavy release under his Quantic Presenta Flowering Inferno moniker, which is currently available for pre-order (with just a few of the limited vinyl bundles still available).

Tickets for his performance at Village Underground are now on general sale for £19.50, and doors will open at 7pm on the night.
