Top figures in Brazilian and UK film industries meet to discuss collaboration

As part of the 2nd Brazilian Film Festival of London there will be a day of talks with some of the Brazilian film industry’s key players, including BAFTA and Oscar-nominated director Fernando Meirelles, the Head of International Affairs at Brazil’s national cinema agency ANCINE, Alberto Flaksman and three of the biggest producers in the country – Lucy Barreto, Paula Barreto and Mariza Leão.

The event will be taking place at the Princess Anne Theatre, part of BAFTA, on Friday 3rd September between 2pm and 6pm. The talk will run from 2-5pm with drinks for an hour afterwards.

The afternoon is designed for producers developing a project with a Brazilian partner, thinking of shooting in Brazil, or interested in learning more about international co-production with a key Latin American industry.

Further speakers from the UK will be announced shortly but will include Gail Egan (Executive Producer, Another Year, Happy-Go-Lucky, The Constant Gardener, Blindness), Chris Pickard (Critical Divide and consultant for Rio Film Commission) and Samantha Horley (MD The Salt Company). Isabel Davis (UK Film Council) will chair the event.
