Walthamstow Garden Party Bringing Emicida and Ana Tijoux to London in July

By 16 May, 2016

After attracting more than 30,000 visitors last year, Walthamstow Garden Party is coming back this year with a vivid programme of music, theatre, dance, film, craft, design, poetry and food in Lloyd Park, London. Produced by Barbican and Create in partnership with key local organisations in Waltham Forest, Walthamstow Garden Party hosts a gamut of international and local artists.

The spectacular two-day programme includes acclaimed artists, such as electronic pioneers Asian Dub Foundation performing their live score for the film La Haine, Brazilian hip-hop star Emicida, Balkan brass band Fanfare Ciorcadia, the Angolan-Portuguese producer Batida and the French-Chilean hip-hop artist Ana Tijoux.

Apart from this diverse and fascinating music scene, Walthamstow Garden Party will host a range of virtuoso acrobats and performers, including the local artist Layla Rosa from Circus Rosa, presenting an interactive programme of circus and performance, and the prominent aerial performers and acrobats Rosie Rowlands and Max Calaf.

Walthamstow Garden Party will be held on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of July in Lloyd Park, London, E17 5JW. Celebrating Waltham Forest’s creative and cultural communities, it will offer a fascinating and unique experience for Londoners.
