Stream of Juaneco y su Combo – Masters of Chicha
31 October, 2010Following the release of the brilliant new The Roots of Chicha 2 compilation the folks at Barbes Records have decided to make Masters of Chicha, a recently compiled collection by Juaneco y su Combo, available for two weeks, where it will be streaming on Soundcloud. Juaneco y su Combo are one of the most-famous purveyors of Amazonian cumbia, which can also be referred to as chicha or pyschedelic cumbia, although it is definitely from the Amazon. Juaneco passed away a few years ago but the band still carries on with his son taking on the legacy. They are a fine example of the sheer visceral dancing power of chicha!
