Feiticeiro Julião “BARRA”
09 November, 2012Feiticeiro Julião are one of the more interesting new bands to come out of Recife. With outlandish clothing, energetic stage presence and songs that mix mangue bit, jazz and funk with something tribal, hallucinogenic even, they are definitely a band to keep an eye on. We featured one of their songs on our Musica da Massa! New Sounds of Pernambuco compilation last year, and now they’re back with a new video for the track “BARRA”, taking us deep into the jungle for a brass-fuelled psychedelic journey with hints of Apocalypse Now’s chimerical beauty.
