By 30 June, 2011

July looks set to be a great month for Brazilian music with some of the country’s leading artists playing at Brasil Summerfest, a new week-long festival taking place in some of New York’s finest venues from July 24th-30th. Marcelo D2, Pitty and DJ Nuts are just some of the artists to have confirmed so far.

Quite rightly topping the bill will be Marcelo D2, Brazil’s biggest hip-hop star. He will be performing at Central Park’s Summerstage on July 24th. Other confirmed artists include Pitty, DJ Nuts, Jorge Continentino’s Pifanology, Davi Vieira’s Hip Hop Axe, Percussivo Mundo Novo, Brothers of Brazil, Loop B, DJ Greg Caz and Forro In The Dark. More acts will be announced soon.

The festival, which is being organised by some of the people behind the amazing venue/record label Nublu will be taking place across a number of venues including Nublu, Central Park Summerstage, City Winery, Nublu, SOBs, Drom and Bowery Electric.
