From the roots of the traditional music from Sotavento, Veracruz, and the influence of great teachers, such as Elena Ramirez, Arcadio Hidalgo, Andrés Vega, Esteban Utrera and the Zacamandú groups, and los Soneros del Tesechoacán and Siquisirí, in the middle of 2005 arises a project that enhances and revitalizes their tradition, dances and poetry, their melodies and rhythms, a project that also seeks new rhythms and sounds influenced by genres such as traditional African, Afro-Peruvian and Venezuelan music, as well as Flamenco, Salsa, and urban trends such as jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock, reggae, among others. Leading to the original proposal: SONEX.
