First acts announced for La Linea 2024

By 08 November, 2023

Described by Time Out as “one of the world’s most eclectic celebrations of Latin music”, The London Latin Music Festival – or La Linea as it’s known and loved – returns to the capital from April 12th, 2024. In its customary mission to bring together the best international Latin stars and the UK’s own homegrown talent, the festival has secured multi-Grammy-winning Mexican singer-songwriter, Lila Downs, to launch the festival with a special performance at the Barbican on Friday 12th.

Following her sold-out performance in 2022, the Franco-Chilean vocalist and current talk of the town, Ana Tijoux, makes a welcome return to the festival the following evening. She will be showcasing her new album at The Village Underground on Saturday 13th.

Norteño group Los Tigres del Norte, who’ve sold more than 30 million albums and are the only Mexican group to have won seven Grammy awards and twelve Latin Grammys, are set to light up London’s Eventim Apollo on Sunday, 14th April with their first ever UK show.

Finally, for now, Argentinian “Nu Cumbia” singer-songwriter La Yegros will be at the Jazz Café on Tuesday 16th April. Described by the Guardian as the “queen of the scene”, she will no doubt be showcasing her new album (due in February) with a brand new high-energy show combining electronica and psychedelic sounds with musical traditions from Argentinian culture and rural South America.

La Linea 2024 is the 24th edition of the festival, but the last one led by its founder, Andy Wood. Further acts will be announced in due course and tickets will go on sale on the festival’s site from 10am, Friday 10th November.
