A Sounds and Colours Première: Iggor Cavalera & TEST Live video
15 January, 2026To shake off the cobwebs our first Sounds and Colours première for 2026 is this video of a bone-rattling collaboration between Brazilian avant-grind-metallers TEST and ex-Sepultura and Cavalera Conspiracy drummer Iggor Cavalera. TEST are fresh from releasing their collaboration with Deafkids, the heavy-as-concrete Sem Esperanças, and their relentless touring schedule. Meanwhile, Cavalera (the band) have just supported Massive Attack in São Paulo, performing the classic Sepultura album Chaos A.D. to huge acclaim.
The video was filmed at the “Radical Sounds Latin America” Festival in Berlin in November 2024 by Marco Mayer, Ari Saldanha, Felipe Tofani and Miguel Buenrostro. The track being played is “Fama/Fome” and features the droning riffs of João Kombi’s guitar, the hardest working man in modern metal, and drumming from Barata. Cavalera goes from adding ambient textures, elements he’s been including in the Cavalera Conspiracy shows, to jumping onto the drums to add rolling percussion. Hang around for the end where it all breaks down into twisted distortion, Kombi’s speciality.
