There’s a great double bill on the evening of Assumption, Tuesday 15th August: the Brazilian minimalist songster Bruno Berle appears with the Brazilian-sounding collective from Minsk, SOYUZ, whose album Force of the Wind included a guest appearance from Sessa, whose own Estrela Acesa was one of my top picks of last year.
And if that weren’t quite enough to whet your musical appetite, the following night – Wednesday 16th August – sees those indefatigable Columbo-Mexican cumbia-punks Son Rompe Pera in concert. Oh to be in London, now that August’s here…
