New Music: Yasser Tejeda and Helado Negro

By 10 October, 2019

Dominican Republic: Yasser Tejada feat. Vicente Garcia, ‘Amor Arrayano’

As we patiently await for Yasser Tejeda‘s forthcoming album, Kijombo, out Friday, the 11th of October, the AfroDominican roots and funk artist has gifted us a new track with compatriot Vicente Garcia.

“Amor Arrayano” is a cross-border story of love and migration, borrowing for its chorus a line from a chant to Papa Legba, a deity that appears both in Dominican and Haitian folk religions. Arrayano refers to people who are of mixed Dominican and Haitian ancestry.

The vocals on this jazz fusion number are all Garcia. Listen to the track below.

Brooklyn: Helado Negro, ‘Seen My Aura’

Summer may be over around these parts, but Helado Negro has a new video out that will transport you to a city pool. “Seen My Aura” is from his latest album This Is How You Smile.

The South Florida born with Ecuadorian roots, whose real name is Roberto Carlos Lange, is about to kick off a tour in Brooklyn tonight. See additional tour dates, which include Europe, below the video for “Seen My Aura.”
