Could these lot be Japan’s finest cumbia collective? Judging by these two tracks it could well be the case. This is seriously fun stuff, “Azul Roso” bringing a keytar in to a barrage of horns for a slight jazz tint, while “Obake Step” is more of your typical down-on-the-floor cumbia groove, albeit with an unusual vocal swing; this one really builds.
The Japan-Colombia connection continues on the artwork, with designs by Colombia’s Mateo Rivano and Minyo Crusaders’ Katsumi Tanaka.
Released in Japan, and very hard to get hold of!
