“Following up on their 2017 debut single on Electric Cowbell, Tribu Baharú return to deliver this dance floor instrumental banger – “Baharulogía” – a driving, joyful track driven by a pulsating rhythm section that lays down the foundation for soaring and searing soukous-inspired electric guitar melodies. Recorded at the legendary Inner Ear studios in Washington DC and mixed by Names You Can Trust label boss Eric Banta. The flipside is a mixed-up and glitched-out dub version by Dutch producer and musician Solo Moderna!

Tribu Baharú was born in the Colombian capital of Bogotà, far from the traditional heartland of champeta music, although the members mostly hail from the Caribbean coast. Steeped in the traditional sounds and rhythms of champeta, the band have suggested that — as with many classic champeta bands — the majority of their influence stems from the soukous they would hear at sound system parties when they were growing up on the coast. Champeta was swept away by the ubiquitous Reggaeton in the ’90s but Tribu Baharú are part of a wave of nuevas musicas Colombianas based in the capital city who are reestablishing it as a prime force and adding more ingredients to the recipe.”
