Fértil Discos And Folcore Ask Your Help To Release Electronica Tribute To Argentine Folklorist Leda Valladares

By 28 November, 2016

So far digital folklore has done good in maintaining its status as a developing music genre rather than standing as a musical trend. With the digital domain continually revealing new artists and labels, it’s been the physical realm that so far has been harder to materialise, with a market that is still too small to consolidate.

That’s where crowdfunding platforms and a few visionary labels have helped see some of the most promising figures and projects get proper releases on vinyl, cassette and CD. Now, Argentine label Fértil Discos and Spanish collective Folcore are joining forces to create a campaign to release reworks and tributes to the late great folklorist Leda Valladares from Argentina.

It’s a project that already boasts artists like Chancha Via Circuito, Dengue Dengue Dengue!, Tremor, El Remolón, King Coya, Barda, Sidirum, San Ignacio, Camanchaca, Intiche, Doma Tornados, Cherman, Qechuaboi, Nixtamal, Mutienigga, Klik And Freak, Guazú, and singers like Miriam Garcia, Charo Bogarín (Tonolec), Leo García, Paloma Del Cerro, Soema Montenegro, Celeste y Las Mil Jarillas and Pol Nada.

So if you are one of those people enjoying the folkloric experiments in electronic music, do yourself a favor and contribute to this cause, and seize the opportunity of bringing a beautiful vinyl release in to your home.
