Coming soon on vinyl…
08 March, 2023Letieres Leite & Orkestra Rumpilezz: Moacir de Todos os Santos
Back in November of last year, I reviewed a new release from Brazil that was the last release by a renowned composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, Letieres Leite. You can remind yourself of the review here. Sadly, he died while the album was being mixed. It’s a homage to one of the greats of Brazilian jazz, Moacir Santos, whose debut solo album Coisas (or “Things”) came out in 1965. I was being premature in suggesting that it was available on vinyl – probably only in Brazil. However, the good news is that the Portuguese label Lusofonia will be releasing a brand new gatefold edition in May. You can also reserve a copy of this fine album via Bandcamp.
