What’s Happening?

By 16 September, 2024

A couple of nice events in London a little later this month to let you know about. A bit late in the day; sorry about that. 50 lines, boy, for tomorrow morning: Must do better…

Snowboy at Ronnie Scott’s, 20th September

The author and ace UK conguero, Mark Cotgrove, known to his fans and admirers as Snowboy, will be appearing at Ronnie’s on Friday 20th with his long-standing and dynamic band, the Latin Section. Understandably but alas, the late evening show is sold out, but there are still tickets for the show starting at 18:30. But hurry, hurry, hurry!

The Colombian Pacific Coast meets the Caribbean Coast at the Fox & Firkin, Lewisham, 21st September

The day after in Lewisham sees a very special meeting of two traditional Colombian music genres. Representing the Pacific coast will be the marimba sounds of Agrupación Patacoré all the way from Tumaco, while London’s very own purveyors of bullerengue, Akolá Tambó, will be joined by guest traditional singer, Nelda Piña, to represent the Caribbean coast. Doors open at midday and you can book your tickets here. Meanwhile, here’s a little taste of what to expect:
