By 30 March, 2016

Krudas Cubensi, an Austin-based Cuban hip-hop duo just released their new music video, “En El Solar” filmed and directed in their homeland of Cuba. With beautiful images and lyrically brilliant words, this tribute to Havana, Cuba speaks on poverty, pride and culture.

Krudas Cubensi are more than just a hip-hop group. They represent a radical and artistic generation challenging western feminist theories and practices through creating their own spaces. They bring all kinds of marginalized issues to the forefront of their music with style. Their art is also known to speak on LGBTQIA rights and gender non-conforming identity through poetry and theatre. They speak on immigrant rights and black power. Krudas Cubensi are a social justice group, and music is their protest art.

Krudas Cubensi recently performed at SXSW 2016 with an all-women-of-colour hip-hop ensemble at a local community thrift store.
