De Madrugada — Musica Percudida Mixtape (Peruvian Vinyl Selection)
| 24 September, 2010We have another mix of glorious Peruvian music for you today. Credit for this one must go to the good people at Listen Recovery. Check out their blog at http://listenrecovery.wordpress.com/ for a wide assortment of interesting articles and music from Peru and beyond. Be warned though, you’ll find it hard to visit without losing at least a few hours of your life – just look at their archives for chrissakes!
Anyway, back to the mix, we have no definite playlist but can tell you that it’s a wide assortment of chicha, cumbia, psych, funk and Afro-Peruvian music, all from the guys at Listen Recovery’s extensive vinyl collections. You’ll also notice the inclusion of Compay Quinto’s “El Diablo”, featured on the Roots of Chicha 2 compilation, as well as the classic sounds of “El Loco” by Los Yorks, some classic Peruvian garage punk.
