De Madrugada — Musica Percudida Mixtape (Peruvian Vinyl Selection)

By 24 September, 2010

We have another mix of glorious Peruvian music for you today. Credit for this one must go to the good people at Listen Recovery. Check out their blog at http://listenrecovery.wordpress.com/ for a wide assortment of interesting articles and music from Peru and beyond. Be warned though, you’ll find it hard to visit without losing at least a few hours of your life – just look at their archives for chrissakes!

Anyway, back to the mix, we have no definite playlist but can tell you that it’s a wide assortment of chicha, cumbia, psych, funk and Afro-Peruvian music, all from the guys at Listen Recovery’s extensive vinyl collections. You’ll also notice the inclusion of Compay Quinto’s “El Diablo”, featured on the Roots of Chicha 2 compilation, as well as the classic sounds of “El Loco” by Los Yorks, some classic Peruvian garage punk.
