He won three Latin GRAMMys last fall, including ‘Best New Artist,’ but something tells us recording a song and music video with veteran Dominican songwriter Juan Luis Guerra may be the sweetest high for roots bachata, folk, and pop-rock crooner Vicente García these days.

“Loma de Cayenas” is a special merengue collaboration with his longtime mentor, Guerra, who Garcia plans to go on world tour with next year. It’s the perfect pairing of two supremely talented singer-songwriters from the Dominican Republic, at a time when urbano, reggaeton, and Latin trap seem to be grabbing all the headlines.

But Guerra and Garcia will grab hearts with this track.

And, that’s not all. Garcia has been very busy on the road and in the studio with Eduardo Cabra (of Calle 13 fame) in their collaborative project Trending Tropics.
