Description
We’ve got 10 copies of this brand new compilation of Afro-Colombian music from Colombia’s Pacific and Caribbean coasts. It’s a beautiful collection this, featuring legendary figures such as Inés Granja, Francisco Torres, Nelda Piña and Emilson Pacheco, as well as younger names. Side A is devoted to music from the Pacific coast and heavily features marimba, whereas Side B has the Caribbean coast as its focus, and sees a change to gaita flutes as a principal instrument. On both sides, vocal and drumming Afr0-Colombian traditions are at the fore; all-in-all this is a great collection of folk music by Afro-Colombian artists; an area that is still criminally under-represented on vinyl.
Mangle Rojo: Afro-Colombian Sounds from the Pacific and Caribbean Coasts is released by Bánfora Records and produced by David Cantoni.
Only 100 copies of the glass transparent version have been pressed (out of a limited run of 500 copies) and we have 10 of them.
