Las Vegas was named the top U.S. city for live music fans

By 25 February, 2026

Las Vegas took first place in the ranking of the best U.S. cities for live concert lovers, according to Betway’s analysis. KSNV reported the findings of the study, noting that the city outperformed dozens of other cities thanks to a packed performance calendar and sustained audience interest.

New Orleans and Minneapolis took second and third place on the list of destinations for live music fans. KSNV’s publication emphasizes that the comparison is specifically about cities as concert hubs, not about genre preferences or an assessment of specific venues.

How Betway calculated the ranking

Betway analysts reviewed more than 50 North American cities and compared several indicators related to live music and trip affordability. The approach resembles a multi-factor index, where a city ranks higher not because of one standout metric, but because of the combined factors.

The assessment was based on the following data groups

  • the number of annual music festivals
  • the number of upcoming concerts
  • the number of live-music venues
  • summer hotel affordability
  • audience interest measured by search queries

At the same time, the methodology has natural limitations. Search interest reflects attention to concert listings, but does not guarantee actual attendance, and hotel-price figures vary by season, day of the week, and the specific accommodation tier, even when an average is used.

The city’s concert volume and the role of festivals

The main driver of Las Vegas’s lead was the volume of upcoming shows. The study cites more than 2,500 upcoming concerts, creating the impression of a constant stream of concerts typical of major tourist hubs.

The key ranking figures for Las Vegas are presented as a single set of metrics:

  • more than 2,500 upcoming concerts
  • about 398 concerts per 100,000 residents
  • 11 scheduled music festivals

The article also highlights the supporting infrastructure that underpins these figures. The calculation included the number of live-music venues, and the very inclusion of this metric matters, even without publishing city-specific values. This criterion accounts not only for rare stadium shows, but also for an everyday live-music ecosystem, where clubs, halls, and hotel venues operate.

Why the status of the top music city matters so much for Las Vegas

The main reason is linked to a decline in visitor numbers among tourists who are interested only in gambling-focused entertainment. Now, to gamble, there’s no need to travel anywhere—just log into an online casino. This attracts many players, but it is not the only advantage of online platforms. They are also chosen for a wide range of bonuses, multiple deposit options, and thousands of different games.

Finally, online casinos attract players because they offer a convenient way to play: mobile apps. Editors of niche websites that rank highly in search results told us that most people currently play on smartphones. Representatives of a website that curates the best aviator apps supplemented this information with interesting data. According to them, the most popular games in mobile iGaming apps are various arcade-style gambling games.

With so many advantages, it is genuinely difficult for land-based casinos to compete with online platforms. This became one of the reasons why Las Vegas focused on music tourism in its various forms. This decision allowed the city not only to maintain but also to increase visitor numbers.

Star residencies as a signature Las Vegas formula

Against the backdrop of dry metrics, the study also draws on a cultural context that Las Vegas has long established. The city is known for the format of artist residencies, when a performer gives a series of shows at the same venue over an extended period, and the concert becomes part of a tourist itinerary.

KSNV notes that different eras and scales coexist within this tradition. In the popular imagination, Las Vegas is associated with legendary names like Elvis Presley and with modern pop stars, among whom Adele is mentioned. This format functions as a showcase, where the city sells not only a ticket for a specific evening, but also the stability of the schedule—predictable for audiences and organizers.

Public interest and summer trip affordability

Another strong indicator for Las Vegas is linked to demand recorded in search engines. The study cites nearly 700,000 search queries per year related to live-music events, which works out to about 108,164 queries per 100,000 residents. This is not a direct measure of box-office revenue, but an indicator that the city’s concert scene is constantly in the spotlight.

Against this backdrop, pricing became an important part of the ranking, since high demand often leads to higher trip costs. According to Betway’s analysis, the average summer hotel price in Las Vegas is $166 per night for two adults, and in KSNV’s piece this is presented as a sign of relative affordability during peak season. An average smooths out differences between neighborhoods and hotel categories, but allows cities to be compared on a common scale.
