A Guide To The Birdsong Of South America Mixtape

By 14 March, 2015

Rhythm and Roots’ glorious new compilation, A Guide To The Birdsong Of South America is now out and here’s a great way to get a little taster.

Featuring some of South American’s most innovative artists – including Chancha Via Circuito, Lulacruza, Dengue Dengue Dengue!, Tremor, Psilosamples and Algodón Egipcio – the compilation was created to help conserve some of the continent’s most in danger bird species. To do that Rhythm and Roots’ head honcho Robin Perkins asked his fellow artists (for Robin is also a great producer, working under the guise of El Búho) to remix or reconfigure the birdsongs of one of those endangered species. The results can be heard below in a mixtape that introduces the birds, their songs and all the artists involved.
