Los Fabulosos Cadillacs Playlist

By 15 June, 2017

We don’t know if “la musica salvarà el mundo” (the music will save the world) as they attested on one of their recent songs (and with the title of their 2015 world tour. But we’re pretty sure that the music of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs has helped make the world a funkier, more upbeat and aware place.

32 years since their debut on a stage in Via Fellini in Mar del Plata (under the name of Cadillacs 57), and the Argentine band can legitimately be considered as one of the most influential names in the Latin rock scene. 12 studio albums and three live releases have made Los Cadillacs one of the most popular names in Latin America, with a growing fanbase in the millions.

Musical eclecticism and red-blooded shows are the trademarks of the ensemble, but what makes them significant, arguably today more than ever, is their capacity to go above and beyond national borders. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs have adopted and fuelled the Latin American imaginary, they have touched themes that are close to the heart of Argentinians as well as Colombians, Mexicans and Latinos living around the world. Doing so, they have contributed to and helped evolve a true continental identity.

And we have no doubt that on the 14th of July, the audience of the Brixton Academy in London will sing by heart the lyrics of “Mal Bicho”, “Vasos Vacios” and “Matador” as they did, for example, in New York in March and Lima in December.

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs will play London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 14th July. More details at comono.co.uk/live/los-fabulosos-cadillacs
