Jota III – Rap das 3 Raças

By 12 September, 2011

Here’s a new video from Jota III for “Rap das 3 Raças”. The track is taken from Jota’s last album Rap Rasta, an album that is currently only available from news stands in Espirito Santo, where it comes with fanzine containing interviews and information about local projects.

The song itself was inspired by a song of Clara Nunes, “Canto Das Tres Raças”, released in 1976. That song spoke of the three historical races of Brazil; black, white and indigenous. Jota picks up the story:

Jota III will be performing at the Espirito Brum festival in Birmingham on Saturday 17th September.
