PREMIÈRE: Jaguar Dream of a United Colombia on Second Single ‘Guadalupe’

By 10 June, 2021

Following hot on the heels of their debut single, the zouk-flavoured “Siguele El Paso”, the Colombian duo of Jaguar are back with “Guadalupe”, though this time the violence and inequality that is so ever-present in Colombia weighs heavy on their minds.

Zouk, of the 80s variety this time and with more than a strong dose of champeta, once more fires up an insistent groove, Paulo firing off the rhythm while Raúl takes lead on the vocals, wondering: “Is it possible that the people united could become invincible?” It’s a message full of hope, but also uncertainty whether it can ever be achieved. “¿Será posible, será posible?” (“Could it be possible, could it be possible?”) he sings, hoping for an affirmative reply.

The video, a ground-level view of Barcelona and a search for something, was directed by Gustavo Arens of Grilled Cheese Studio.

“Guadalupe” is the second single from Jaguar’s debut album Madremonte, to be released September 24 by El Palmas Music. “Guadalupe” is officially out on June 11, streaming from ditto.fm/guadalupe
