WIN Gilberto Gil ‘Refavela 40’ London Tickets
11 June, 2018Gilberto Gil is coming to London on Monday 25th June to perform his classic 1977 album Refavela in its entirety. Gil will be performing at the Barbican with a potent band including his son Bem Gil and Cape Verdean singer Mayra Andrade, and we’re very happy to be able to give away a pair of tickets for the concert.
The Refavela 40 tour has already spread across Brazil where it has been a huge success, and is now headed for London. Inspired by African and Afro-Brazilian sounds and rhythms, Refavela is possibly the stand-out album from Gil’s late-70s output. Featuring classic tracks like “Babá Alapalá”, “Babá Alapalá” and the title track, this is going to be a glorious trip into prime Gil and a chance to hear some lesser-known but no less-wonderful tracks from Gil’s illustrious career.
