Volver – Mangue Beatle
16 April, 2012And the award for irony most definitely goes to Pernambuco’s Volver and their song “Mangue Beatle.” If you don’t understand Portuguese unfortunately you may miss out on this song’s charms, including various nods to the mangue beat scene in Pernambuco, especially on pay-off line “Eu não quero viver / Eu não consigo viver / Nessa lama com vocês” (“I don’t want to live / I don’t want to live with you / In this mud with all of you”).
