SoL Sonidos Latinos To Officially Launch at WOMEX 2016
12 October, 2016SoL Sonidos Latinos is a brand network aiming to integrate and develop Latin American music bt creating an alliance between musicians, industry professionals and organisations, the media, cultural institutions and public bodies.
SoL will be present at this year’s edition of WOMEX, the #1 expo for world music, which will take place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain from 19th to 23rd October. At the event they will be bringing together more than 50 professionals, organisations institutions from Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay. It will be the first time in history that a Latin American group has participated as a collective at an international music fair.
Their aim is to connect the Latin American musical ecosystem with the rest of the world, and promote LatAm acts internationally. With that aim in mind SoL Sonidos Lationos will be organising speed meetings with festival programmers, companies and institutions from 30 countries around the world and will be showcasing three Latin American acts as part of the official programme: Bareto (Peru), Pascuala Ilabaca y Fauna (Chile) and Quinteto Bataraz (Argentina).
SoL and their participating organisations and professionals have the institutional support of Agencia Argentina de Inversiones y Comercio Internacional – EXPORTAR y Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto (Argentina), Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes (Chile), Cuba Music Export (Cuba), Ministerio de Cultura y Patrimonio (Ecuador), Promperú (Perú) and Dirección Nacional de Cultura – Ministerio de Educación y Cultura (Uruguay).
