Lourenço Rebetez: A new single, a new album
16 September, 2026Today, the São Paulo-based composer, producer and guitarist Lourenço Rebetez announces his second album, Lingua Geral (scheduled for 4th November), alongside the release of the first single from the album, “Maestro”.
Produced by the semi-legendary Arto Lindsay and featuring a whole wealth of notable musicians, Lingua Geral brings together Candomblé percussion and rhythms, jazz and echoes of hip-hop beat-makers like Madlib and J Dilla. Sounds good! For the moment, we have to content ourselves with “Maestro”. As the title suggests, it’s an homage to a mentor – Letieres Leite – which opens with a kind of lopsided call-and-response between the percussion and horns before… Well, listen up and see what you think.
