Lucas Santtana Channels Love and Carnival on New Single

By 14 February, 2018

Well, as it’s Valentine’s Day and as carnival has just finished across Latin America (well apart from a few after-parties still in full swing!) we thought we’d hit you up with one of our favourite tunes that came out during Carnaval season.

Here is Lucas Santtana, a man who was born in Salvador and so is no stranger to carnival, with a track he released through Red Bull, a celebration of love during carnival. “Amor de Carnaval” tells the simple story of a couple meeting during the madness of Brazil’s most famous street party. Musically it continues a style of electronic funk carioca-inspired grooves that we last heard from Santtana on his 1999 album Eletro Ben Dodô.

It’s a big departure from his last album, Modo Avião, an experimental but compelling album largely comprised of field recordings from airplanes, an album which has been described as an “audio-film” due to its conceptual nature.
