Emerging Colombian artists get their dues
06 July, 2010It’s been a good week for some of Colombia’s new artists. Choc Quib Town, previously featured on Sounds and Colours, received the credit of being placed in the Washington Post’s Top Five Albums of 2010… so far. They were chosen by Chris Richards, and currenly sit alongside Sade, Beach House and The Soft Pack in his choice of records that have come out so far in 2010.
The band have recently performed at Glastonbury and are currently in the middle of a European tour, which sees them return to London for a couple of shows on July 17th and 25th.
Also getting a mention have been Bomba Estereo, who are also touring Europe, and will be appearing in London at Hackney Empire on July 15th. They were recently voted on the MTV show “Iggy” the best indie band in the world, beating competition from Surfer Blood, Das Rascist and The Very Best. The award will lead to them taping a live performance which will be shown on MTV.
