PREMIÈRE: La Yegros Demands Respect for Women on New Single ‘Tenemos Voz’

By 22 March, 2019

On her new single, the third taken from her new album Suelta, Argentine cumbia chanteuse La Yegros demands that women get the respect they deserve. “Tenemos Voz” (“We Have A Voice”) she sings on the track, with the added talents of British MC Soom T opining: “we have a voice and condition of free women without oppression” over an infectious Andean cumbia beat.

“Tenemos Voz” is taken from Suelta, her third album, which is also released today. Featuring production work from King Coya (who produced “Tenemos Voz”), Daniel Martin, Eduardo Cabra and Jori Collington, the album sees La Yegros expand her sound even further, offering new nuances to her electro-cumbia sound with an increasing predilection for Argentine (and even Middle Eastern) folklore and for creating hybrid sounds.

La Yegros will be playing live in London on 26th April as part of La Linea Festival, at Rich MixSuelta is out now on X-Ray Records.
