New tracks from Eddie featuring Otto and Karina Buhr
22 October, 2011One of the problems we had with our recent compilation Musica da Massa! New Sounds of Pernambuco, which brought together music made in Pernambuco in 2010 and 2011, was that these restrictions meant we couldn’t include one of our favourite bands from the area.
If you are familiar with Eddie then you will know they need no introduction. For the benefit of those not familiar, Eddie are the band that epitomise everything that’s great about Brazilian music. They fuse the heartbeat of Northeastern Brazil with the snarling attitude of the urban landscape, taking influence from both folkloric styles and punk and alternative rock bands from Brazil and the rest of the world.
Excitingly, they are preparing to release a new album, Veraneio and the band’s leader, Fabio Trummer, has leaked a couple of tracks onto Soundcloud, the first of which includes the special participation of Karina Buhr and Otto.
