London’s Finest Chicha Combo Los Chinches Head Out On UK Tour

By 25 February, 2013

On 1st March Los Chinches will be embarking on a UK tour to celebrate the release of debut album Fongo. Taking in London, Brighton, Nottingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Cornwall, Liverpool and Leeds the tour will see the band break out their best 60s Peruvian jams, inspired by cumbia, garage, rock ‘n’ roll and dub. If you like Los Mirlos, Los Destellos or Juaneco Y Su Combo you are sure to like Los Chinches too.

Their long-awaited debut album Fongo takes it’s name from “a mysterious deity, a visionary and a clown with a taste for jungle liquor and Amazonian beauties”. Which also seems to fit in with the amazing artwork made for the album by Marco Toxico.

Here are the tour dates:

1 March – The Blind Tiger Club, Brighton
8 March – Nottingham Contemporary
9 March – Gwdihŵ, Cardiff
15 March – The Fiddlers, Bristol
16 March – Mount Pleasant Ecological Park, Porthtowan, Cornwall
11 May – Rich Mix, London
25 May – Mello Mello, Liverpool
26 May – The HiFi Club, Leeds

Fongo will be released on 1st April 2013 on Movimientos Records. You can download the single “Serpiente Negra” from loschinches.bandcamp.com
