New Music: ‘Caboclo’ by Lagartijeando

By 12 June, 2018

Argentinian Mati Zundel, better known to many as Lagartijeando, is back with new music for 2018.

Following on from last years El Gran Poder album on Wonderwheel Records, his latest EP Caboclo similarly draws on an international array of sounds.

Caboclo combines a Brazilian flavour alongside traditional Argentinian chacarera folk music.

The EP fuses Afro-Brazilian rhythms, house beats and samples that range from the ambient to the wild. What ensues is an intriguing soundtrack to an exotic daydream, in which those seeking an electronic escape to a Latin American landscape need look no further.

Extending affairs, Lagartijeando has also pulled together a 45 minute mix, inspired by his influences for the EP, available on free limited edition cassette. Get in before they’re gone.

Caboclo is available via the Big In Japan Bandcamp.
