FIRST LISTEN: Léo Leobons’ ‘Ritual’ Remixes on Kafundó Records

Since release of the first volume of its compilation series, 2014’s Digital Roots Music From Brazil, Kafundó has become a hub for all manner of contemporary Afro-Brazilian music, especially when Bahian bass is on the agenda.

At the end of 2018, they released Ritual, a new album by Léo Leobons, an acclaimed Brazilian percussionist and practitioner of Afro-Cuban culture that has collaborated with Maria Rita, Azymuth, Lucas Santtana, Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri. Now on June 25th they will be releasing the remixed version of the album.

S&C can bring you an exclusive first listen to Ritual Remixed, featuring versions of Leobons’ originals made by renowned international and Brazilian DJs and music producers, the likes of Chico Correa, Tahira, Lagartijeando, DJ Farrapo, Maga Bo, Teleseen and Ohxalá.
