Aterciopelados, Son Palenque and Jorge Henriquez featured in first outtakes From Esperando el Tsunami

By 08 June, 2012

This is a real treat! Lulacruza and Vincent Moon have released three out-takes from their Esperando el Tsunami project (which you can read about here). These include videos of Colombian musical royalty Aterciopelados, Afro-Colombian traditionalists Son Palenque and Jorge Henriquez from Colombia’s Wayuu indigenous community.

You can watch these videos below but we would recommend you check out the Esperando el Tsunami site where you can find out more information about the videos and their artists, with notes from the sessions.

For those that aren’t aware of Esperando el Tsunami this was a project where Argentine/Colombian group Lulacruza travelled throughout Colombia, with film-maker Vincent Moon tracking their journey. Along the way they met countless musicians, with the project culminating in a film, album, blog and the extra musical and visual excerpts which will no doubt be cropping up on their site in the future.

Upcoming volumes will feature Grupo Guascanato (Pacifico), Pampei (Islas del Rosario), Chirimia del Rio Napi (Guapi, Cauca), Estrellas del Caribe (Palenque), Frente Cumbiero (Bogota), Majin Diaz (Palenque), Cantadoras de Guapi (Guapi, Cauca), Sexteto Tabalá (Palenque), Sixto “Paito” Silgado (Islas del Rosario), Siquito (Palenque) and more.
