MTV Iggy is the home for great new music from around the world
12 August, 2011MTV Iggy have had a refit and currently seem to be going all out to feature our favourite bands! Over the past few weeks they’ve had both Tulipa and Daniel Peixoto as artists of the week, put on a secret show for La Vida Boheme, as well as featured Bomba Estereo, El Hijo de la Cumbia, El Sueno de la Casa Propia and Lido Pimienta, among many other of our favourite South American acts.
Last week, Tulipa was the artist of the week as voted for by fans who overwhelmingly chose her out of a selection of five global artists for that week. An interview with Tulipa herself followed the victory, which can be read here.
We recently interviewed La Vida Boheme as well as featured them in our Going Underground: New Music of Venezuela article, highlighting some of the best new artists coming out of Venezuela, a region that is really thriving at the moment. MTV Iggy are also giving the band plenty of support, arranging for them a secret show in New York which you can also see on their website:
