¡Viva! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival Returns to Manchester

By 03 March, 2015

The Cornerhouse Cinema in Manchester will this year host the 21st edition of the popular and internationally-renowned ¡Viva! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival. The first series of films kicks off this Thursday and runs through the weekend, when audiences can expect to be treated to a selection of the best in recent cinema from Spain and Spanish-speaking Latin America.

¡Viva! is well-known for presenting a diverse selection of fresh, independent productions alongside some well-established classics. The first screening will be ¿Quién Mató a Bambi? (Santi Amodeo’s 2013 comedy) which will be shown at 6.30pm on Thursday 5th March. The ¡Viva! 2015 Opening Gala will take place on the same night.

Manchester-based fans of Spanish language film will be glad to know that ¡Viva! is hosting two further events in 2015. A Mexican-focused weekend will be held on 18th-21st June at the nearby HOME cinema and a fiesta of Spanish films is scheduled for Autumn 2015.
