New Tan Frío El Verano Album Available for Download

By 16 April, 2012

Venezuela’s Tan Frío El Verano yesterday released their fourth release (and second full-length LP) Primavera, making the album available for free download from their website and listenable on Soundcloud.

The group hail from Barquisimeto and Caracas in Venezuela, and are more than just a musical group, calling themselves a collective due to the fact that their 14 members include designers, photographers, musicians, illustrators and fine artists. This connection with the arts is reflected in their album artwork, which is always sumptuous in detail. We’ve included a few images at the bottom of the page to illustrate this.

Their music is atmospheric, with elements of rock and electronica, often surprising in it’s use of textures and progression. A lazy journalist would describe them as post-rock, but considering there are far too many lame post-rock bands out there and Tan Frío El Verano are actually producing something interesting, we don’t want to do that.
