Psychedelic Pop from Colombia’s Meridian Brothers

Now, we have to be honest and admit that we don’t know that much about Meridian Brothers. As their latest release is called Meridian Brothers VII though we are sure that they have a long story that needs to be told. Maybe we will tell it one day.

Meridian Brothers VII is a collection of 10 songs that we’ve dubbed “psychedelic pop” in the title but that contains elements of electronica, cumbia, musique concrete and many other hard-to-define influences. At times their music has the rare beauty of the Silver Apples of Joe Meek’s famous “Telstar” single. They are undoubtedly one of the most interesting artists we’ve encountered in a long time and one which we very much plan to get to know better.
