Latinas of London

By 29 November, 2024

No, we’re not announcing the opening of an exclusive new shop in South Kensington, but rather a night at the Jazz Café in Camden in January next year featuring some of the most exciting female voices emerging from London’s Latin music scene. The show on Saturday, January 11th will be hosted by the rising jazz/hip-hop/cumbia star Desta French and will feature the talents of Afro-Latin singer Juanita Euka, Colombia-born and London-raised Sachellys, whose influences include salsa stars like Celia Cruz, and Latin-jazz pioneers COLLECTIVA, who have been busy making waves in the U.K., Europe and the U.S. They will be supported throughout by the funky, dance-friendly sounds of DJ Atlas.

It sounds like a roaring good time is guaranteed for all. You can buy tickets for the event here. Meanwhile, here’s a little taste of COLLECTIVA, recorded in what looks suspiciously like the Barbican in a time of COVID.
