Emergency on Planet Earth

By 16 February, 2023

Dance yourself silly to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Co-founder of Radio Chiguiro Records of Paris, David Crocq got in touch with us about an incredible response to the recent disaster in the Middle East. In just 4 days, 54 artists from 28 countries came together to create a 49-track compilation of electronic music from Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe and elsewhere. The album is called ACIL (“Emergency” in Turkish) and it’s available for a mere €10 on Bandcamp.

Whether techno, amapiano, batida, downtempo, afro-house, abstract hip-hop, ambient, singeli, drum’n’bass, latin or experimental, the music has a common denominator of dancefloor-centric electronic beats. So while we dance, we can be reassured that 100% of the funds will be donated to the French NGO, Alliance Urgences, whose mission it is to mobilise support and raise funds in the event of humanitarian emergencies. The funds are then allocated to NGO members of the association (Action Contre La Faim, CARE France, Handicap International, Médecins du Monde, Plan International France and Solidarités International) with a view to organising humanitarian aid in the field.

We doff our hats to Alliance Urgences, Radio Chiguiro Records and the 54 artists involved for this inspiring response to the current emergency. Let the magic of music work to help the countless victims.
