Sonoras Mil Release Exuberant Video for ‘Antigua Inocencia’

By 21 December, 2020

Original, resourceful, witty, spontaneous, warm – these are just some of the affectionate descriptors that come to mind while watching Sonoras Mil’s new video for the track “Antigua Inocencia”.

The video follows brothers and bandleaders Felipe and Mauricio Gómez as they dance around the streets, grocers and landscapes of Pereira, Colombia, in loud shirts, velvet blazers and Ray-Bans. The brothers encounter Pereira’s characterful residents in spontaneous, joyful moments, where music and dance connects residents as they go about their day.

Sonoras Mil’s eclectic, unbounded sound is described as “tropical-experimental pop with a lot of groove”, and a touch of psychedelic rock, I’d add. They received a grant from Pereira’s culture secretariat to make the joyful video. “Antigua Inocencia” is their second release of the year and they’re set to release an album in 2021 before – pandemic permitting – touring Europe and Brazil for the third time.
